Cody – Powell Highway

Highway Construction

Highway 14 was reconstructed and widened to a five lane highway. The project was a 4-mile complete reconstruction and included earthwork, crushed base, paving, drainage, a new bridge, and revegitation. Challenges of this project included working with high traffic volume and two double runs of 96” pipe in live streams. The 96” RCP weighed 28,000 pounds per joint and had to be placed one half of the run in the fall and the other in the spring to facilitate traffic all under live water.
